1951 F-1 (S)

Hey there, so I've been at my truck for about a month or so and after lurking the forum. I figured I'd start a thread. This truck has been sitting around for about 12 years, no engine or transmission. But, I'll be picking up a 5.0 engine and transmission from a late 80s-early 90s mustang. So if y'all know of any tips or anything. Please feel free to comment. I've got plenty of questions as well, haha. Thanks. Front end before anything crazy happened.
Rear end at start.

Current status of the truck. I'll be putting that 5.0 which is fuel injected. So if anyone has done that kind of swap. Please leave some tips and advice.

5.0L swap

Many , including myself have gone with 5.0 EFI swap and AOD or other compatible transmission. Do a search of this forum if you are able for info. You'll have to consider electric fan or moving radiator forward. There will be some interferences with steering and exhaust manifold and motor mounts that you will have to deal with. I'm happy with the 5.0 /AOD as it moves the truck along fast enough for me.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your project.

Looks like a good start, My F1 has the same power train you're looking to install truck, plenty of room for a 302 and an AOD. From the looks of the landscaping and 2 skis in the driveway I'm guessing Florida ?

Yeah, I'm going to have to search through the forums and see what I can find. Thanks though.

I have found that a Google search works much better for this forum, just include FTE in the search. Good luck

Pictures

I have a few pictures of the install of the motor and tranny; I removed a lot of the bells and whistles with respect to AC, cruise control, EGR that kind of thing. Do have power steering using stock pump, and MII IFS.
