2015 F-250 6.2 Issues
Hi guys,
We have a couple of F-250's with the 6.2 gas motors in them, that we purchased new for our business a little over a year ago. About a week ago one of our Foremen said his truck was starting to smoke when he started it up. Smoke was light blue/grey in color. He also said it would run rough occasionally, but he wasn't getting a check engine light or seeing any gauge issues on the truck.
Talked to the dealer about it and he said buy some Seafoam and put it in the gas tank. Figured he may have got some bad gas or something. Well couple of days go by and truck starts running rougher and throws the CEL. So have him take it to the dealer. Dealer scanned the codes and said it was a misfire code for a couple of the cylinders. So the replaced two of the fuel injectors that they said were bad along with the spark plugs. They told us that should have fixed the issue and he got the truck back. They said it may still smoke for a couple of days until it clears out of the system.
Well a few days later the truck is still smoking and he checks the oil in the truck. It was almost dry on the dipstick. So he fills it back up and checks it two days later and it's already burnt all the oil again. No CEL or anything on the dash which seams heard to believe, but maybe the trucks computer didn't see the issue yet or it wasn't severe enough to trigger any codes yet. So he took it back to the dealer this passed Tuesday so they could take another look at it. Service advisor called me yesterday morning and said Ford told them to replace the valve cover and spark plugs really ?? Just think the issue may be a little deeper than that. Truck was not leaking any oil.
Figured i'd post one here and you guys that are familiar with the 6.2 motor might chime in as to what the issue might be. I'm thinking more along the lines of head gasket ? I've always heard that the 6.2 is a pretty problem free engine, so maybe we just got a bad one. BTW Truck has around 21k miles on it.

I think tsb(technicians service bulletins) are just released to help the technicians fix common problems they are seeing with a vehicle. I think they will only fix them under warranty if your having issues. It's not a recall. This is where having a hook up or a very good relationship with your dealer pays off.
I would definitely contact my dealer to see if they will address the problem out of goodwill. But I think The truck would definitely have to be under warranty.
