Happy race day! Hope your favorite driver did good!

Got back this afternoon from the Boy Scout Klondike Derby up by Mt. Lassen. We saw 8* early this morning and got about 4" of snow on the tents. The SD did well, except for a cantankerous start-up and didn't build enough vacuum to engage the hubs. I do like the manual over ride on the hubs though.

Will I just put in new injectors and glow plugs on my 01, starts like a new truck. Changed them at 414,000. Got em from full force diesel for 1438.00. Ford wanted 5k for same remans. Just a heads amigo.
My favorite won as an owner, Tony Stewart

Hank,
It may have had more to do with the 8*F morning and not bringing a gen set for the block heater than the injectors. She started right up this morning here in the valley.

Batteries were about 10v to 11v and FICM was 48v+. The glow plugs cycled quite a while though

Next fall's oil change will be 5W-40 Synth instead of Motorcraft 15W-40 blend. I also added a bottle of Diesel Kleen White when I filled the tank Friday. The other numbers did not look unusual.

Mine started out with 2 failed glow plugs and figured while there go ahead and do inj. 3 were leaking.
8* is a tad chilly. Curious, do you use a front cover when super cold?
BTW I use 5w-40 synth as well

Everything checked out last week during the 150k service, the dealership used the 15w-40 blend. I haven't used a radiator shield on this truck either. Next year will get 5w-40 synth and take the generator to run the block heater.
