I replaced the front calipers on my Mom's 79 f100, then bled the lines, pedal was firm for about a day, now it's getting lower, it doesn't go to the floor, when the engine is off one pump picks it up high and hard, but it ain't like it was yesterday, any ideas?
I had a Mazda pickup that wouldn't hold a brake bleed for more than two days... tried everything and same trouble over and over.
The fix was finally to replace the wheel cylinders. The seals were just bad enough to let air in and not let any fluid out...
I have also had master cylinder go bad during a brake job - forcing the fluid back in when pushing the caliper pistons in for the new pads has caused them to leak afterwards.
