Do you have any clearance issues with the Andersen Ultimate with a short bed? Also, do you have it mounted with the king pin in front of, or behind the ball mount?

90 degree turn without an issue. The ball is mounted to the rear as recommended by Andersen. I also reversed the adapter with the ball behind the king pin as my MorRyde pin box was threatening my sides.

I am picking up my 5th wheel in 2 weeks, and I was afraid of clearance issues. I figured I would have to mount the adapter with the ball in front of the king pin and that would make me have clearance issues with the rails or tailgate of my truck. That is good news that I can mount the adapter with the king pin in front and still be able to get close to 90 turns.

Prior to the Andersen, I had the Reese 16K and was limited to about 75 degrees, but that wasn't much of a problem. You will want to do a test turn in a parking lot with an observer.

Ended up with a B&W companion slider, the dealer ordered the slider vice the standard companion. They needed the trailer off the lot to make the end of month numbers, so I twisted their arm to sell me the slider at cost since I did not screw it up, otherwise they will just have to wait till I can get a hitch, well they accepted. Only downside, it takes 2 grow men and a small crane to put the thing in the bed. I wish I knew some one local who has a Andersen hitch, I would like to see it in action.

Check the local camper dealership parts departments. The one closest to me has a display in the showroom.

I only had to watch a few videos and check owner praise in forums to pull the trigger. The only negatives come from non-owners who reject new technology.

Yes, it works with them all as there is a standard.

I towed a Keystone Montana with the Radiused nose to Alaska and back with a CCSB and no slider. If you put the Companion in the rear most position the kingpin will be about 1" ahead of the axle and I doubt you'll have any problems. It'll swing 75-80 degrees without interference.
