O2 sensor melted

Dropped fresh motor in and forgot to hook up pre cat o2 sensor.....ugh..driver's side manifold only glows red hot idles high white exhaust...rich.
i bought new connector but the wires are different colors than harness. I hooked it up just going off of location of wires on new and old connection but still no luck. Does anyone know which wires get get connected to harness?

You asked for which wires get connected where. The diagram above is from the Ford service manual. Pink/Orange wire is the supply voltage for the heater portion of the O2 sensor. The Black wire goes to ground to complete the circuit for the heater. The Orange wire goes to Signal Return pins on the computer. Gray/Light Blue wire connects to O2 sensor feedback for the computer on pin 29.


This might help assuming your O2 sensor connector is round

O2 sensor different colors

Ok so I double checked and the manufacturer tells me the connector is not color specific. Just wire it up by original order Wich is what I've done..also checked maxi fuse under hood all is fine . I still have check engine light glowing manifold and garbage acceleration...

Pull the codes to see why the computer is activating the CEL.

Just ordered the scan tool last night. Soon as it gets here I'll let you know what it says
