Transimission failure at worst time...
Well, after spending over $15K on this truck with all the usual motor items over the last 15 months, my tranny died. I was hauling something up and over what we in CA call the 'Grapevine', and the tranny said no more. Got hot, stopped wanting to pull, so I got off the road and waited a while, I knew it was game over but I let it cool down and tried to drive again but the tranny got hot real quick, stopped working, I'm stunned and off the side of the road 160 miles from home, this is brutal.
So I'll do my homework and search craigslist for a used one but I need to narrow down the 6.0 models that will work for me, would any automatic tranny from a F250 or F350 work? Mine is a 2007 F350 dually 4WD, thanks guys.

Yours is a 5r110. Any 6.0 03 to 07 that's 4wd will fit it. Also and 2003 and up e450 or 550 vans that are 6.0 2wd with the external parking brake will fit it. 6.4 4x4 trans will work also, the only difference will be the converter
