Take it back to the independent, who will probably fix it for half the cost of the dealer.

I bought one of the 1st Job One 6.7s built 03/10. I drove the Truck to 68K mi with zero problems and was within $5K of owning it outright. After reading some of the Horror Stories here, and on other Forums, associated with Some early 2011s, I traded my 2011 for a new 2016 F250 which is essentially the same truck. I might have gotten 200Kmi out of that early 6.7 engine, but I couldn't afford to take that chance with no extended warranty.

+1 for me too. Sold the 2011, and got the 2016. The risk of dropping an exhaust valve was just too much for me to take too.

Yep. The trend is most of us don't like to keep these beasts out of warranty - or out of Engine Warranty. Or at least be prepared to drop some $ if you do. So that truck payment you have should continue on into a truck repair fund, just in case. It's great if you don't need it because you then use it towards getting the next one.

That is a trend I wish I would have picked up on.

Thanks to all those that posted and pointed me in the direction of the reps here on the Forum. Forum got me in touch with regional manager. Didn't do a damn bit of good though.

This summer I'll decide whether I keep my '11 and fix the issues with new heads & turbo or just get rid of it. If I get rid of the DRW then I'll also sell the trailer and downsize both items. Likely to a 2500 and TT.

And, in my opinion, it's just too pricey of a truck to have to worry about extended warranty. It used to be the reason to buy a diesel. Mileage and longevity were the big selling points. Not anymore...might as well get a gasser.

"Mileage and longevity were the big selling points. Not anymore" They still are selling points for some. To bad it's not backed up. But it seems that there are those that are accepting of getting less than 100k miles on a diesel before breakdown. It used to be said that a diesel with 100k miles was just getting broken in. Now, 100k means its time to unload.

For those that might be curious, total to tow to ford, fix the blown injector and bent return fuel line, and replace the other 7 weak injector clamps: $1580

Well said. It's true.

Have you checked an independent diesel shop yet?

I did check an independent shop. Would still have to pay the dealership almost $300 for towing charges and diagnostic if I took it somewhere else.
