1957 F100 - Side Vent Door Removal

It must be pretty easy, because I have done it several times and don't recall the details. My truck is away for the winter so I can't go look. From what I do recall, you remove the screws that hold the cover and disconnect the cable that runs from the dash from the dampener, it is secured to it by a screw. Now the dampener can move freely, open and close. Now things in my memory get fuzzy. It has a pin sticking out the top and the bottom that hold it in place. If I remember correctly you turn the dampener to a certain direction and you can raise it up freeing the bottom pin and then slip out the top pin. Or visa versa, top first then the bottom. Like I said I don't recall it being difficult, but don't recall exactly.

Why is this thing such a pain in the a** lol. One problem is that it has about 40 years of mice homes behind there and I also pulled out what appears to be a vintage leather glove someone stuffed in there - likely in an attempt to stop the cold air coming in through the vents.
I've cleaned out most of the mouse home, but I still can't see pins to get them out. Ironically, there are not pictures at all on the Internet showing someone do it! lol Maybe because it is so easy to do, but when you can't see the pins, screws, bolts, etc - it is a little more difficult!
Anyone have a picture of what I'm looking for - minus the mouse home and rust I'm dealing with?
