How can I keep someone from steeling my truck?
#2
What do you mean exactly? Mine will be parked outside, under a streetlight. Always keep it locked, and don't leave a key inside. You could use wheel locks to prevent wheel theft. My salesman said to leave the spare in the truck, which is stupid. If a thief broke a window, he could take the truck easily.

Someone recommended on another forum a device that is controlled by a remote that is plugged into your truck that prevents your truck from starting until you activate it with the remote.
Someone else recommended the Club that attaches to the steering wheel.
Another idea is to insure your truck to cover full replacement if it is stolen.

Believe me if a crook wants to steal your truck ....he will. The club is good for honest people, when a crook breaks the window he uses a hack saw to cut the steering wheel in half next to the club. He then pulls the 2 halves apart just enough to remove the club, punches the ignition and he's gone. Other than your alarm try installing an igniton cut off switch somewhere so he can't start it......anything to slow him down.

Can the Advsnced Security Pack be added at the dealership? Mine did not include it. I'd like to have it driving around in Houston. It only costs $60 to add on when ordering BTW.
Advanced Security Pack includes SecuriLock® Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) and Inclination / Intrusion Sensors. Optional on Super Duty XL and XLT; standard on LARIAT, King Ranch®, and Platinum.

Kill switches are fairly easy to install or have installed. It is an add on to the ignition switch, adding a sequence to start the truck. In addition to turning the key to the "on" position, there is a button or ****, your choice, that has to be activated in order to engage the starter. Electrically, it's as simple as a splice in the ignition circuit. The new "starter button" can be disguised hidden under the dash, cigarette lighter, whatever.
If somebody wants it bad enough, it's going to be gone. Theft insurance is a great way to sleep easy. Making your ride harder to steal is less than $15 and some creativity.
