What's the line? 0 degrees? Are there marks for 5, 10, 15, 20 degrees? Should be 5-10 BTDC.

That's with the vacuum advance on the dizzy disconnected if it isn't still.

What is the chalk mark on?

Is there vacuum on the port? I wonder if the vacuum advance diaphragm is shot.

yeah, I'd bump that a touch - loosen the hold down for the dizzy and rotate it CLOCKWISE slightly and recheck. For that motor, it could even be slightly higher than the mark.

What I bet happened is, someone timed it with the vacuum advance connected to vacuum-at-idle which is wrong.

Back to the distributor's vacuum advance diaphragm - take the distributor cap off, and supply vacuum (suck on the hose, if you have to) and see if the vacuum advance works, and stays with steady vacuum - in other words, the diaphragm doesn't have a tear/rip/hole.

Cuz I actually tried to loosen that and spin with engine off ,and it wasn't acting like it wanted to spin thought I was gonna break sumthing trying to spin it so I figured it might jus need to be running but didn't wanna do that til I ran that by sumone with a lil more knowledge

It's always a good idea to make sure the dizzy is loose with the motor OFF first.

First, make a mark on both the dizzy and the intake/engine so you can put it back where it was if it moves too much while you're trying to get it moving.

Sounds like it's stuck. You loosened the hold-down?

spray it with penetrating oil. Where the dizzy meets the intake/engine.
