Hey Brian. So glad you are showing all your welding stuff. I will be learning this spring/summer and your build will be used often. If this was a book the pages would be all dog eared by the time I'm done!

So I made a trip to Harbor Freight last night. Picked up a spot welder, and a spare 4 1/2" grinder. Spot welder is 120v. I tried it out on some 24ga black smoke pipe. worked like a charm. It's good to 16ga. The thing weighs about 30 lbs. Can't wait to try it out.

Spot welder works well. Little heavy, about 30lbs. so I hung it with a bungee cord from the ceiling. You just have to control the spot time manually.Make sure the metal is clean. I did about a 3 second spot.




I cleaned up the frame a little more and got some paint where the cab will sit. I better order some cab mount bushings soon. I want to set the cab back on the frame so I can finish the last small floor patches and spot weld the flange where the floor meets the fire wall.

Nice! And no weld clean up, like doing it with a mig.

I found a 240V on Amazon I may have to pull the trigger on......
