Is it an F-1 or F-2

Hi guys, I've done my research and I know there is a difference with the front fenders between these two trucks but I don't know what it looks like. I'm specifically asking about 1951 and 1952 front fenders. Can you show me what F2 fenders look like vs F1 fenders.

Thanks

That's an F-1. Very simple--look at the angled portion of that seam (between the horizontal seam and the wheel opening). If it looks like it's about 4 inches long, it's an F-1. If it looks like it's about 1 inch long, it's an F-2 or bigger. That goes for the 48-50 fenders as well.

Here's a random pic of a Ford F-2. See how there's basically no angled portion of that seam?

What Doc said. Here's another image (just Google Ford F2). The color contrast might make this easier to distinguish the differences.

Thanks guys! I picked this truck up, it's an F2 cab and title. But f1 frame and bed. The last owner is the one who put it together, he said he used the F2 cab and front fenders. But that had me confused because they looked f1 to me. I guess I'll never know how f1 fenders got connected to the f2 cab before he got it

Thanks! It needs a few things, the temp gauge isn't working, and the carb needs cleaning. 12v would be nice too.

Welcome to FTE! Very nice looking truck You mentioned that the title also says that it is an F2, does the truck's serial number on the title match the serial number on the frame rail? It may never be checked in your state, but in some states it is very important that they match. I love the color!

There isn't such a thing as an F2 cab. The same cab is used on the F1-F6 trucks.

Might be good to share the serial number from the frame rail (top side of passenger side between radiator and motor mount) and any of the tags that may be in place. You can use 'xxxx' for the final numbers, if you would prefer. Decoding is easy for this bunch. Something isn't right about the story.

Your seller either didn't know or wasn't truthful.

Agreed. Everything about that truck is F-1. No such thing as an "F-2 cab". Same cab for all trucks.

As noted previously all the cabs are the same. Here is my '50 F2 with ''52 F1 front fenders which are interchangeable. The box is from a '52 F1 also but my frame has been shortened by a PO and I had to modify some of the mounts and add a rear crossmember.

Another way to tell F1 from F2 is the transmission crossmember. Here you can see my F2 which has a wider U shape. I can't find a picture of an F1 but someone on here probably has one.
