Hot Rubber Burning Smell After Parking in the Garage?

Anybody else have an occasional hot rubber burning smell after parking in the Garage?

I first assumed it was a ReGen but it smelled more like rubber, I crawled all around truck... could not ID where it was coming from, definitely no stronger near the exhaust.

Few nights ago it was so strong I parked the truck outside after I pulled in because it was so strong I feared the truck might catch on fire and burn house down.

Still could not ID the location of the smell.

Just regen smell?

Mine did the same thing... twice now. Assuming it's the Regen. No Biggie.

Don't think it's a diesel thing. Noticed something like it the other day when I got home. And I've got a gasser..

Could be a rubber piece of some type near a heat source lol. Maybe an exhaust hanger or an isolation piece to reduce vibrations ? If it's happening in gas and diesel trucks it's got to be a common thing that both trucks have. My regen smells nothing like rubber on my truck.

My gasser does this too. I'd been blaming my flatbed's mudflaps, but I'll take a closer look, now.

I'm consistently getting the smell when I pull in the garage each evening. Just figured it was the "new" burning off. I've got about 600 miles on the truck now. It is a diesel.

6500 miles and had it in heavy traffic coming through the vents. It went away but definitely odd.

Probably the rubber exhaust hangers heat cycling when new?

I have 5500 miles and mine is still doing this. Usually after a regen (you can hear the pipes creaking) on a 70+ degree day. I figured I was melting my airhorn so was going to put some insulation on them. Maybe it's something else after all.

For reference mine is at 12,500 miles. I only notice it on long drives, and it's never bad enough that I thought twice about it till others said they were noticing, too.

I'm betting it's the regen. I noticed this on my 2016 and thought it was rubber melting or something. I could find nothing. It's more noticeable if a regen doesn't finish and the truck is turned off.
