Unfortunately I don't predict a removable top. And I also don't think a 2-door is in the cards either. With the exception of the standard Wrangler, the 2-door SUV market is largely dead. And even among the Wrangler's being sold, the Unlimited sells way better than the standard model.
Aside from these, I agree with everything else the article says. The two biggest factors are simple and affordable. I really don't want to see it become the Raptor, because the Raptor is too expensive. And many Raptor's never leave the pavement anyway.

pretty much guaranteed no solid axle front nor V8, so its already screwed.

Why does it need to have a solid front axle? The old Broncos didn't have solid front axles for the last 16 years of their production.

I would wager it will be strictly modern with a grille vaguely resembling the old ones.
Every useless thingie known to man will be available.
