Power Windows, Locks, Crown Vic into '56 F-100 with vents...
First my apologies for going over plowed ground- but the search feature here just doesn't work for me... I'm sure my fault. However, my thread title is appropriate and search friendly. A thread title like, "Hey- I need help with this", is just plain DUMB!
Anyway, finally got a '91 Crown Vic for parts, though, I'm in the later easier part of my '56 resto.
Question- are any of these C.V. door parts readily usable in my '56?
The Good Lord has blessed me with good fab/mod abilities and tools to do it, but not wanting to ridiculously 'make it fit' just because I have the parts.
Thanks for any help in directing me here... johnh

I have no doubt that with enough mods the pw could be made to work but the obvious problem is curved to flat glass meaning you would have to flatten the cv window tracks . I too have a lot of parts available but for a few hundred dollars I'm not sure that the effort would be worth it .The locks and latches would be usable although again not that expensive so it comes down to your build are you trying for budget type build ( ie proving that these pieces can be used ) or just trying to save money ? I too have been struggling with this as originally was going to use as much surplus as possible but have reconsidered some simply because of the time it takes to " make stuff work ".

Thank you, Ebear for info. I am at fault also for not pulling the panels on CV and just seeing first hand. I've restored a number of other Fords- first go around with a complete '56 & CVs.
I did just talk with another '56 restorer & he said CV rear power window units are best candidates with moderate rework. Though, additional hassle with wiring & switches may tip scales to kits.
