rear axle locked up

Wait... you're in Napa Califorina... you don't have brine on your roads... you have wine.
So rust isn't a factor in your brake pad disintegration. And you say you don't have caliper issues?
Then what's causing your brakes to wear so dramatically? How often do you have to change pads and rotors?

I got the bolt out of the drive shaft. Cut a flathead into it with a grinder, then heated it red hot and used a flathead to break it loose. About ripped my hand, shoulda set up a ratchet with a breaker bar but I was already under there when I thought of that.
Anyone used any of these 12 point bolts from online? I'm seeing a bunch of em i dont know what one to choose. Gonna order them tonight.
EDIT : These? Not sure if they are 12 point or not http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...ad=47584901292

The ones in the small picture are NOT 12 point, but that does not mean the bolts in the kit or not 12 point. Sometimes (as I am sure you know) the online retailers post generic pictures instead of the actual item.
Do you wish you had checked the brakes first now instead of tearing into the driveline? I probably would have done the same as you, but just trying to learn from others as I always do.
