2017 6.2 MPG
#31
Did a 150 mile commute to Cheraw, SC yesterday. All secondary roads, cruise set at 60 mph for the most part. Averaged 15.7 mpg on the way there. By the time I got back home, it had dropped to 15.1 mpg due to in-town driving. Best mileage I've seen to date on the new truck.
As an aside, I also looked into what effect opting for the factory 20" tires would have. Using the overdrive .69 6th gear, from what I can determine, going from 18" to 20" tires would effectively result in the 4.30 gears performing like 4.00 gears. If accurate, this is still an improvement over the 3.73 gears. I'm open to correction on this and would love to hear more savvy folks than myself comment. Always looking to learn!

What size tires are on your truck?

Good report. This confirms my decision to go with the 4.30 gear set.

Just filled up yesterday, I do 15 miles back and forth between towns for work, 50/50 mix of highway, i took the tow tune off so its stock right now, 11.7mpg.. I did run my truck over a scale the other day and the front axle scaled at 4200 and the rear at 4000, and thats my standard truck without anything in the bed. I want to find a full scale to put the whole pickup on, but close enough for now.. 8200lb with no load.

Hyper-miling attempt
So, I hyper-miled the same trip I took with the 6.7 loaner I had for 3 weeks.
The 6.7 was 17.2.
My 6.2 was 14.0
This trip is just shy of 50 miles with 1/2 being 2 lane highway 55-65 speed limits; the other half is a mix if country roads, and double yellow line roads speed limits range from 25 to 45.
A fair amount of rolling hills on this trip too.

Not bad at all. I'm heading down to the beach next weekend to clean up the condo remodel. I'll take a shot from the drive; it is basically all flat if not just a little decrease in elevation. I'm hoping for similar results. My only problem is there is a section where 80mph is the 'slow lane', so I'll be getting run over with the cruise set to 65!
