best 58 in cab gas tank?

Need to buy a new in cab fuel tank for my 58. Are they all the same. Is there a best tank to buy? Or just order one from anyone? LMC $199 + shipping.

I just put one in a 66 from DC and it looked good, all galvanized. Generally speaking LMC is just a middle man for products made and available elsewhere. DC tools up and makes a lot of their own stuff and are generally thought to have better quality.

The fuel tank you bought from Carpenter is actually reproduced by Blue Oval Truck Parts (Anaheim CA), who sells it to the other repro parts sellers and the general public.

D0TZ-9002-A (replaced C1TZ-9002-K):

In 1970, FoMoCo replaced the 18 gallon fuel tank used on 1961/69's with the 19 1/2 gallon tank used on 1970 (1970/72) F100/750's. This is the tank the repro parts sellers are selling.

The 18 gallon in-cab fuel tank used on 1957/60 F100/900's is different.

I think I will order from Blue Oval. Good price and all they sell is Ford. Thank you for the offer of the used tank. But for the cab I better go with new.

The Blue Oval repro tank is for 1961/72. The 1957/60 tank is different and I don't know if it's reproduced (see last line in post #3).
