My son recently acquired a fairly nice 1997 F350 Dually, the 96 F150 body style. I have the factory running boards from my 2013 Lariat, and was wondering if anyone can tell me whether these will mount on the older truck, both are CrewCab trucks. I also have also all the brackets, mounts and bolts. Fingers crossed for good news!
I would just go and look, but we are a four hour drive away from each other, but I am hoping that someone may have attempted this

 

not easily. the superduty trucks have reinforced rocker panels for mounting the running boards to.
the old body style does not. and the rockers are not nearly as deep as the new trucks.

this is not to say you could not modify them to work. but i would not mount steps to the rockers on an old body truck. i mount to the frame with brackets that stick out under the rocker.
