My new V10 build
So, after a 1 year stint with a 6.4 powerstroke I am back in a V10. I sold my last V10, a 2006 extracab F250 because I got bored of it, wanted a crewcab, and I was a bit over my GVW with my big camper. It was a sweet rig though.

I spent a lot of time and effort on my powerstroke and it turned out awesome but it broke down all the time!! I decided I couldn't trust it anymore and started searching for another V10

I missed out on a nice 2010 lariat and then found this 2009 XLT. Its a one owner truck with only 76,000 or 47,500 miles. Has the 4.10 gears and is in good clean condition with all service records. A real grampa truck!
Didn't get much of a picture of it but here it is. Stock as it gets!!

I immediately started a parts list for a build. This truck will haul a camper 80% of the time and will spend the other 20% of its life getting me onto off road adventure/hunting trips. I am lucky I drive a company duty full time so this truck will only see about 6-8000km or 3700-5000miles a year. My modifications will cover most of the truck including:
-performance
-suspension
-interior and exterior mods
I picked up my first few parts and got started on my build!

Some custom "snow camo" interior accents
Pulled out the center seat and bolted down a console I found at an auto wrecker
I also pulled the dash panel and air vents to color match [white] them

I ordered some mikes custom 89 performance/tow and 93 performance tunes and loaded them into an SCT X4 I had laying around. My parts guy found me an airaid open element intake and a banks cat back exhaust. I think the banks system gives the V10 a great exhaust tone.

I think chrome is great....just not on my trucks so I started de-chroming. I pulled of the grill and installed the one off my diesel. The bumpers off my diesel will be swapped out to this new build as well.
I also swapped out my spider front and rear smoked lights complete with a brightsource HID headlight kit.

As for suspension I found a new, used pro comp 6" lift system for 1/3 the price of new!! I think I may powder coat some of these parts white to match the rig. A call to my parts guy has some fox 2.0 shocks to compliment the suspension.

Today I took advantage of boxing week sales and picked up a kenwood Bluetooth stereo head unit, a cell phone booster kit, some vent visors for the windows and a bug deflector.

This afternoon I pulled off the hood vents and painted the chrome parts with a duplicolor "black chrome" spray. The plastic vented pieces got hit with plastidip in white. I dug out a set of recon "lighted" F350 badges I had stashed away that will compliment the modified vents when they are done.

As a side note I bought this truck form a town 450 miles away. During the trip back the truck got 15MPG, Canadian gallons, hand calculated and made it the whole 450 miles on one tank of fuel!

As a year around outdoorsman I will build this truck with another "snow camo" image. This one may get a full body camo job. Will see how much the decal shop boys want$$.
