If price is the issue, have you considered uship.com? It's where every day Joe's bid to ship it for you. They have reviews and such. I had a tractor shipped just a month ago and used them for the first time since it was the sellers recommendation. I got it done cheaper than any shipper.
BUT!!!!!! The downside is that most all of the bidders are not insured and not licensed to haul. I lucked out and turned out to be a very nice guy who went out of the way to even padding his chains so that no paint even got scuffed. Where as I expected the worst. But for a non restored 60 year old tractor, it worked out for me.
Besides that, my best quotes always seems to end out being Forward Air when I ship (or have shipped) palleted heavy items.

Bostonbob,Sorry, I have someone already. Just booked it yesterday.
The truck is 500 miles away. Quotes were from $350 -$975. Several were at $500.I did a BBB review and chose Cobalt Logistics Services $500. Highest rating I saw from all the quotes. Gary Sacks was awesome and explained everything. .66-.68 cents a mile and the broker fee.
