73-79 bed sides on newer bed

Hey Guys, I'm buying new bedsides for my beat up 79 bed. Will these 73-79 bed sides fit up to say a early 90's bed? I read the floors are the same but not sure if it's a direct fit.

Yes, they will fit ('73-'96) but you also need to change the tailposts, that's the vertical pieces behind the taillights. They need to be the 73-79 to match the bedsides.
Pauli3wood did this and detailed it in his excellent build thread, here's a link to it:

Specifically, the bed work starts at post #197

I'm curious about the same. I looked at one time in a crash book and it showed the floor and front box panel numbers the same into the early 80's and that was all the newer that book was.

With the exception of the outer quarters and the rear tailposts, the beds are the same from 73-96. In fact, the inner quarter replacements for the 73-79 carry an '87 part number (E7TZ)

Thanks for the info. Are those rear corners available new or bone yard?

I bent NO NOS out there, maybe reproduction? I bet mikeo0o0o0 has one NOS and he is still waiting on me to get him the other one he needs.

it will be OEM UOS (used old stock) AKA JY (junk Yard). lol

Yup, like I said Rich, no rush, when ever you get a chance.
And "yup" again, no NOS ones out there and no one reproduces them either. They do have a "tailpost repair panel", don't even bother, those are useless, even if you have a tailpost that needs repair.
Gonna be a salvage yard item.
One item, I checked a couple of weeks ago and the floor pan (8') and back panel were still available from Ford.
