For the past 6 months when I'm on the interstate 65 mph the truck would go into limp mode and the temperature gauge shoot up to hot and the temp light comes on.I put it in neutral turn it off turn it back on put it in drive and it would be okay for a few miles sometimes it be ok the rest of the day took it to the Ford dealer they ran some tests and said that number one cylinder showing hot the front of the head had a small hole at the front by the number one cylinder therefore I needed to replace the head after head was replace I got on the interstate ran for 5 miles no problems get home check the antifreeze Reservoir is full everything looks good no leaks . Went for a drive doing about 50 engine shuts off like it was overheating I pull over open the hood no antifreeze in the reservoir I put antifreeze and started back up and went to close the hood noticed there was no more antifreeze again shut it off went to pour more water went straight down, cannot run pressure check on radiator because the water runs straight through.

Check the hoses. You could have a bad hose or hose clamp that isn't tight. That is where I would start. It's not good for a motor to get that hot and go into limp mode. Before you drive your truck you should know how much antifreeze your truck holds and if you cant get close to that amount after removing the head than you have air in the system. You need to add fluid to the radiator not just the reservoir. So you need to let the truck cool down first in the driveway before you do this again. I have a feeling that the system isn't full
