I noticed a lot of 2,3, and 4 year old threads resurfacing this past week. Must be nostalgia...

The super duty diesel gets around 15 on the highway....the 5.4 gas can get over 19 mpg. Maintainace is cheaper on the 5.4 gas engine.
Also, there have been recalls on the Super duty diesel because it has been setting fires due to it's exhaust system running too hot...something to do with unburned fuel in the system...The diesels are a malfunction...don't buy it just because you like the klak klac klac sound. Yes they have more torque!!! you pay for it!

I wouldn't let the grass fire issue stop me from buying a new superduty. The problem was solved by a reflash of the computer. However, I looked at an 08 superduty diesel and the price tag kept me from getting one.Not that it wasn't worth the price,it just wasn't a good idea financially to trade my 06 already.
Back in the day we used to try to get flames to shoot out of the exhaust of our old hotrods now new vehicles do it off the showroom floor. Woo Hoo
