Is it really worth the 700 dollars? I'll be towing with my truck some but I never had anything like that before on the truck so just curious is it really that noticeable and easier backing up and driving while towing.
I honestly don't even notice it unless I really concentrate on how far I am turning the wheel when backing up to a trailer or tight spot, it definitely reduces the lock to lock turn at low speeds and reversing but it is just not something you really notice when it is working.
I have it but so far can't tell that it does anything. Maybe if you did a lot of slow speed turnings it might be worth it. It's also supposed to change how it steers when you engage tow/haul. I haven't tried this yet but it's supposed to reduce how responsive the steering is. For example if you are towing and you need to swerve and miss something it will make the truck less responsive and maybe avoid a jackknife.
I'm of the same opinion as the others above. My deciding factor was if it saves one accident while towing it was money well spent. I looked at it as insurance. Have it with the hope of never needing it. That was my decision making for most items I ordered including getting a 2017 over a 2016
It would be fine with me if the standard steering were a little quicker. I'm referring to highway driving as well as maneuvering. No reason for it to be so slow.
