Can't find engine block heater?

I know i requested it during the order process. But does not show up Window sticker. Order per work is at work and will check.

It is going to be 3 degrees f in the morning. What dealership would order a 70k truck for someone and not make sure that was in there??

I am really frustrated. It may be my fault. But I swear i checked 5 times to make sure it was on the list.

Could i be so blind as to not see it??

Check behind the tow hook. If it's not there you just need to order the cord and have it installed

For some regions the block heater is included. You don't have to specifically order it.

Sorry

Read right over that.

If it's not listed on your window sticker either as a paid option or a no charge option based on your order location then it's not on your truck

I ordered it, it is on the sticker. Plug is just above the passenger side tow hook. You can add it afterwards as was said.

The dealer could care less, that's on you if you ordered the truck. Depending on your location, your salesman could have recommended it though if he knows anything about diesels (probably not). Per the owner's manual, block heater use is only needed at -9 degrees and lower. Of course I and probably most use it way before that.

422.50 to have it installed. I can't imagine not putting these things on trucks that cost this much. My lesson learned. Probably need to move on and worry about something else.

Not Ford's best move,

Usually they all have the block heater installed, just whether or not they have the cord. You can buy a cord for about $25.

Sounds like a dealer and buyer issue. Ford's literature is pretty clear which states get the block heater cord standard. I "think" all the 6.7's come with the block heater installed, you just need the cord to plug into it. As stated, it's a $25 part, far better than the $422 quoted. Many guys order the truck without the $75 or so option and install their own $25 cord, saving themselves $50.

Not the end of the world.

I am not sure about the 2017 but for the prior years when you order the block heater all you are adding to the truck is the cord. The block heater was installed on all of them.

I learned this back with my 6.0. Back then I was able to order a $12 aftermarket cord. The cheap cord was only missing the plastic push mounts for the rails so I had to zip tie it when I routed it out front. Also as others have said 3 deg weather is not cold enough to need it.

Can someone who has the block heater follow the cord and see where it connects too the block. On previous you had the two studs that you bolt the cord to. If you can tell him where to look he can get a heavy extension cord and bolt it on himself or have dealer do it.
