IM done minus fine tuning advance and carb for optmum air fuel mixture. My thermator plugs finally came in completing the new head project, which was the only missing pieces of my "Performer" Edelbrock top end power package (for idle to 5500 power band) . Took truck for a 5 mile test run. All went well, engine smooth, sounds good no more exhaust smoke. I will fine tune and break in slowly rechecking valve train and re-torqueing head bolts. Once again I would like to thank each and every member for walking me thru the processes it took to do this project. It trips me out that when I bought the truck all I knew how to do was maybe check the oil. I give all credit for everything I have been able to accomplish so far to the nice folks here on FTE. Its your encouragement and professional guidance that has allowed me to participate in this hobby. Thank You so very much. There are some pics in my album #28 if anyone is interested, if not here are two below.

Looks good, Jimmy. Hope the truck serves you well. We've enjoyed riding along with you on this project.

Good morning Roy, as you may remember they were designed for low end performance to match the cam, carb, and intake etc I have which are also Edelbrock performer series components, and they do deliver, and give a nice throaty sound too. They proved to be a nice addition to the 68 FT 302 I have. I went low end because with all stock suspension and brakes a little extra power from stop signs is all that I was looking for, I top out around 5k . The motor was rebuilt according to the PO, and not knowing anything about the rebuild I figured winding it up wouldn't be very wise. I really haven't had it out other than running errands around the general area few hundred miles so far. All in all I'm very happy I took the plunge, I never really trusted the pressed in rocker studs on the stock heads, and these heads perform as advertised. Take care my friend.
