1992 F350 E4OD Slipping
Hello to all, I have this big problem that I hope some one can help me out with. To start off with I have a 1992 F350 460, with E4OD.
Just rebuilt my transmission and still having problems.
Things I have replaced; MLPS, VSS, e4od solenoid pack hardness connection.
I even took it back to the transmission shop, and they rechecked every thing and even replaced another solenoid pack. Now it runs great for about an hr or so, and while im driving the transmission starts to slip, and jurk.
Has anyone come across this problem before, after replacing practically everything?
Help!!

Thanks for responding.
Jaagen, the Torque Converter is new. These guys who rebuilt my transmission are highly recommended, and good reputation because they use quality parts. But that doesn't mean that they are perfect. That is why i took it back 2x's. Crazy thing is that it works fine in the morning or when first turning on, but starts acting up once its gets to normal operating temp.
Lead Head, what pump are you asking about?
what was updated was the Neutral Safety Switch.

The early E4OD pump was undersized. It's generally a good idea to upgrade to the 1995 pump when doing a rebuild.
However reusing the old pump shouldn't cause your issues. How exactly is it slipping? Is it slipping while shifting into gears? Is it the torque converter that's slipping? Try lightly touching the brake pedal while driving (just enough to turn the brake lights on) and see if the problem goes away.

No I don't get hard shifting, after replacing the MLPS, VSS, solenoid pack hardness connection.
What i did not know and i wish i did, about the 1995 pump upgrade. (I have to ask if he did or not)
So how it slip; After driving a good hour up and down town with the OD off, i would be going around 40-45 MPH with my foot slight on the gas pedal, when all of a sudden RPM's just go up and im only moving because of the momentum, then it grabs and then lets go again causing the jerking affect. (As if i was to shift it to neutral then bring up the rpm's dropping it in gear, back to neutral and dropping it again.) Luckily this has been happening close to my house, so i just drop it in 2nd and drive home. I know that it will do the same thing the rest of the day, but the next day, again for the first hour (or so) it will drive fine again.
Question; could it be the ECU? I mean once it gets warm enough the electric stuff in there might be shorting out?

Lead head,
interesting you say that because before replacing the solenoid pack for the 2nd time, i did what you suggested. I took off the hardness and of course putting it in D it would hardly move, so i would start off on 1st, 2nd, and around 30 mph shift it to D, and i drove it like that for about two days, that's when i took it back it to replace the solenoid pack. Once they swapped it out for another new one, still had a problem, that's when we realized that the problem was the hardness it self. Once i replace the hardness, well that's were i am now.
