Well Kevin really summed it up. I've got more thin pitted metal than I have good metal. I'll find a cab that's been separated from the rest of it's truck and we'll have a whole truck to build again! It's a bigger bump in the road than I hoped for but no slowing us down. The boys and I put the last coat of paint on the frame last night. Time to start turning bolts clockwise at last!

Just a little follow up. Instead of straight metal salvage, I found a local artist that works with metal that liked the old cab's curves and we cut it up and put it in his car....

Wow. When you said "Kiss my cab goodbye" you really meant it. Didn't you?

Hi FTE folks. In my haste to turn 2 cabs into 1, I have a spare F1 cab 48-50 that was for parts in fair shape. I've listed it for sale on craigslist, but not a single bite for 6 weeks. Dropped the price to $50, no bites. I'm about to cut it up for scrap and thought I'd see if anyone here needs a piece here or there that was worth paying shipping from CA. Let me know by Thursday.

If you're going to cut it up and the area above the windshield inside and outside is solid, I'd be very interested in that section. I've got a pretty nice '50 cab that the mice built a nest in above the windshield and I've got pinholes inside and outside in the area of the rear view mirror. I'd much rather repair with original donor material than hand-make patches. Shoot me a PM please if you go that way.
