I recently purchased a 1994 F250 standard cab long bed 4x4 with a 7.3 IDI. It is a base model truck that I purchased as a work/project truck. I am trying to fix up some of the issues that it has. I need to fix issues with the front end. I know that it has a TTB axle, however I don't know which version it has. How can you tell between a Dana 44 and a Dana 50 TTB. From what I've read ford offered both in their trucks. I am trying to rebuild the front end and would like to find a good place to get parts for it. Possibly put a mild lift on it. Thanks for any help in advanced.

 

The size of the hubs is different between a Dana 44 and Dana 50, I can't remember size off the top of my head, but Dana 50 is larger (and same size as Dana 60 as well)

 

94 Would be a D50, im 99%

 

as said, and 94 SHOULD have a D50 in it. but here is the proof positive what axle it is. D44 has a locking hub smaller than the mounting flange:
