Unhappy ****Window Trouble

So I have been driving our 66 F-100 to and from work for the last 2 days since my super duty is down for paint. (First time driving manual) Last night, the drivers side window fell off track and the hubby fixed it telling me I was slamming the door too hard and the window cannot be all the way rolled down. This morning I had it in the back of my head to do it as gently as possible, with the window still sticking up a bit as he showed me, and it still fell back down. How do I fix this, considering I am trying to close it as gently as possible. Is there something I can do to better hold in the window?? New parts?? PLEASE HELP!

You're in the wrong forum, you need the next one down.

BUT, it sounds like something is damaged in some way. You should be able to slam the door and NOT have the window fall. Something is worn out/broken. The regulator? The sissor mechanism that moves the window? Can't say til you pull the door panel and see.

The window regulator uses a nylon window roller (COAB-6423240-B). It fits onto the stud of the regulator, then inserts into the window channel that the glass is adhered to.

The roller breaks, the window falls down into the door, which is a very common problemo.

The roller was used on all 1961/66 trucks, 1960/64 Galaxies, 1960/65 Falcons, 1962/65 Fairlanes and 1965/66 Mustangs.

It's available from all the repro parts sellers and....since you live in AZ:

STEVE COURY FORD in Star Valley AZ has 2 = 928-474-8888

DON SANDERSON FORD in Glendale AZ has 9 = 623-842-8682.
