I'd drop it from at least thirty feet, then set fire to the results!

*rollin on floor, laughin*

As for why....I can see why. I have a 280Z I wanna put a 302 into. Horsepower to weight ratio........

I've been told you can only put about 300 horses into a 280Z before you need to reinforce the suspension. My guess is the Vega could never handle the 460. The weight up front will kill it, and the torque would twist that little car in half. Still......it'd be a thrill doing it the one time ......

C'mon guys, Froggies is pulling your chain. Every Vega rusted away within 3 years of manufacture, there are none left. It's a hoax.

Well its a step in the right direction now you need to turn the vega into a pinto, and it beats a classic ford with a chevy engine any day.
Nothing frost my privates more than a 34 ford powered by a chevy Eric

ok, been done. 20 years ago my buddy and I dropped a 454 into a vega, and it was an absolute screamer......
for a little while that is, see we forgot to upgrade the brakes, and well, once we got it going, it was impossible to stop. An old Ford Farm truck stopped us (he was waiting at the red light) Needless to say that was the end of our Vega expiriment.

Man that was fun...

I hate to say it,but a Vega wagon with a 377 stroker is the fastest car in town. And that includes big blocks! It is updated in the chassis department but the real war on the street isn't Chevy/Ford/MoPar,it's Power2Weight+Traction.Thats why the Fox cars rules most streets*****llent race bodies. There is many around here and a few wheeliepoppers to!
But the Vega guy hasnt been beat.He runs high 11's on gas i was told.Which is fast.

Please consider junking the Vega, and getting a '79-'93 Mustang, and putting that 460 into that, there ARE bolt in kits for this application, please don't waste a good Ford motor on a Chevy!!!!

Contact Don Hardy Race Cars. They've been building Pro-Steet Vegas since the car was introduced. You'll need to sub-frame the rear and run rails tying to the front suspension. A tip: '80-'86 Chevelle/Malibu/Regal/Cutlass 10 1/2" front discs are nearly a bolt-in and can be used with a Cutlass master cylinder sans power booster.
