Curt 5th Wheel Hitch with OEM legs

Have a question or two for anyone that has this hitch.

1. Does the hitch center the King Pin directly over the axle or is it forward of the axle center line?

2. What are your thoughts on this hitch? I am thinking about this hitch for my 2017. I have the B&W companion on my 2008.

Thanks

I can't answer your questions, but I did ordered the Q24 just a few days ago. From what I've read, folks that own them have no complaints or regrets. One reason I went with Curt was the lower adjustable height - the Curt starts out at 13" where most others start at 15"+. I'm concerned with the increased height of the new Super Duty's, and think the lower starting point will help.

I ordered the Q25 with OEM legs for my upcoming 17 to replace my Reese Elite. It's rated the same as the Q24 with OEM legs but is a bit stronger due to extra internal gusseting. I did assemble it in my current 2012 but can't remember the exact position over the axle. If it's forward it certainly isn't by much. The best price I could find was CARiD.com. $659.51 delivered. They also did a military discount of 10% off so it came down another $66 to $593 total. Seemed like an outstanding deal to me. As Joe said, it's a touch lower 13" to start with so it offers more flexibility with the new taller 17's. Here's the review I left at CARiD.

"This a great option for the OEM Ford prep. I sold my Reese Elite which is the same as the Ford OEM. (Reese makes both the Ford prep and the Ford accessory hitch.) After a few years of use it had gotten quite noisy despite regular maintenance. It is also a touch taller (1.5") than the Curt which can pose a problem with the new 2017+ Fords being even taller than the previous generation. Assembly is simple. Installing in the Ford puck system is even easier than the Reese with the arms in a more accessible position and swinging out instead of in like the Reese. I also like the tougher powder coat finish as opposed to the easily chipped and rust prone paint on the Reese. I opted for the Q25 over the Q24. The price was about the same and both are limited to 24k due to the Ford legs. However, according to Curt, the Q25 has a bit more internal gusseting providing additional strength. The last plus I noticed was the internal rubber blocking which should help with chucking as well as keeping the hitch more quite and eliminating some of the creaking and moaning the Reese exhibited. Lastly is the value. Compared to brands like Reese or B&W, the price can't be beat!"

Anyways, here's a link to it on the CARiD site. You have to use their chat system to get the military discount if you are eligible. The free shipping offer is good until March 31st.
