1978 inline 6 300

Hey guys im new to this place and i was thinking about buying a 1978
ford inline 6 300. I was wondering if someone could tell me what i could do to the engine to make it as fast as possible . But i dont want a turbo,supercharger,NOS,or to do a engine swap. Ive looked around but couldn't seem to find anythig. Can someone HELP????????? Thanks!!!!

A lot of people go with a 4bbl carb and intake and headers. I don't think that it will ever be fast though.

1978 inline 6 300

Ford intended the 300 six to be a workhorse...a tractor engine, not a speed demon. It is possible to do it with a 300, but you will pay dearly for it. You might concider a 302 or 351W for speed, they're cheaper to build also!
