1969 f250 with 428 cobrajet?
Hey, I came across a truck for sale and I wanted to see if anyone has heard of this generation f250 coming badged as a 428 cobra jet?
The truck looks great. Guy bought it from an estate sale hoping to snag the engine but it turned out to be a 390. Any info on this? Is the truck rare enough to yield a higher price despite not having the "original" engine?

My thoughts exactly. Despite the false badging, the truck is in nice shape. I'm thinking about buying it if I can check it out this week. Royal maroon - don't see too many of those around.

Wow, that is a rare one indeed. A 1967 428 Cobra Jet Ranger Camper Special Sport Custom.
Cab mounts look shot (body and bed don't line up)
Wiring is all Bubba'd up
Radio mounting is most likely cut up
Mirrors are off of a Dentside so there are a bunch of holes drilled in the doors
How many extra holes for that strip holding the fire wall insulator?
The bed may be rusted out too.
To me, that is no $4000 truck.
If it runs and drives it would probably be worth about $3000 tops. Depending on how bad you want it.

Thanks for the reality check. It has been on cl for a month and relisted a couple times. Thats never a good sign. The other things you pointed out are just making it seem less desirable. I may go take a look still but I'll go with a different attitude than I would have before. And less cash in my pocket.

72 f250 camperspecialsportcustom
My camper special badges are mounted on the cowl .and my 72 cs sport custom has marti report to back it up.fake bumper. Fake paint.fake seat.rebuilt by pioneer c7mae motor with iu crank and external balance.junk rebuilt c8aeh hard seat valves and seats.the crank code was verified by a former fe racer.bore 4.172.stroke 3.98..block info verified. Smooth pad next to timing cover.530121.x13a.12172 distributor. With pertronix .and flame thrower coil.forged 40 over pistons. So it seems that the only good thing about this rusty northern California snow country truck.is maybe the motor.I bought the truck like this.for 1000.00.so it is starting to look like I paid1000.00 to much.and I won't spend 20.000 to fix all the rust.my truck has the camper special package..

1970/72 Camper Special emblem is a rectangular plate located on the cowl panel.

Damn. Too bad the PO screwed up those fender badges. Someone could have used them. Like myself...
