strong diesel smell in cab

just picked up the new platinum and when i come to a stop or idling i get a strong diesel smell through out the cab. Is this right? i have to hit the recirculate button on the ac to stop it from entering the cab. if i run the defrost it sneaks in.
it has about 100 mile s on it. Not a happy camper.

I have test driven several trucks, and all of them that were brand new stink when stopping until they get a couple of hundred miles on them. One even had smoke coming up from the hood - just left over oils from assembly. It should smell much nicer in a couple of days.

The first time I parked my 2015 after a regen I thought I'd run over a skunk.

The one I test drive definitely had a petroleum/burned plastic smell when we came to a stop at an intersection.

hrm, i had some burn off smell, but was gone by 30-40 miles.. I'm at 100 miles now, and there's nothing but the smell of leather and fresh window tint inside.

well i got my truck back from service. They said it was a power steering leak and they cleaned up the mess and it doesn't smell in the cab anymore. It smells the same as it did when i dropped it off. Its diesel fumes dumping in the cab when you come too a stop. when it's on uncirculate. i'm too the point they can keep the truck. I've had it for 3 days and waited along time for it to come in. I'm not interested in getting sick or my family either

that sucks man. I mean stuff happens, but I want my new stuff to be new until something wears out. Not something broken on day one.

I love the new car smell and "anything wrong this thing happened under my watch" part of a new vehicle.

Its like buying a new laptop, it breaks a week later and they give you a refurbished replacement. "Its certified and warrantied!"

Doesn't feel good. Sorry mate.

There was a exhaust tube that was disconnected on some of the earlier 6.7's but I haven't heard it in the last couple of years. Could it be this?
