factory tire change package question

So i know my 1990 f250 has a underhood mounted jack, jack handle and lug nut wrench. Where the lug nut wrench is stored theres another slot for something else to go with wrench. Does anyone know what that other slot is for?

Tom, the jack handle is clipped to the core support above the radiator. Did they make a smaller folding jack handle in later years?

all 5 of my 88 to 92 F-350's and my 88 F-SuperDuty had the jack rod in the fender with the tire iron, not on top of the radiator.
