I notice that the trim on the side of the hood is more of a sword, while the trim on my 52 M3 is a trident. Does anybody know the significance of that?
I have Ford ones that were on the truck and are beat up real bad. I have found a set of Mercury caps and they are not for sale. I want to eventually go back to bias ply tires with original hubcaps.
Please keep me in mind if you find any more Mercury caps. I have 2 stainless that have lots of dings and 2 chrome that need re-chroming

I think means it is as five star cab. Arm rests, door panels ,key lock on drivers door, interior light with switches in door posts, stainless trim on windshield , magic air heater There might be something I missed.
The '51 and '52 deluxe trim package that is on this truck is called the "5 Star Extra" package. The base level trim package was called the "5 Star". This package was exclusive to the '51 and '52 model years. Other options, such as the radio and Magic Air Heater, were sold separately. Here is the diagram from the sales handbook describing the Extra features. Stu
Stu is correct. The 1951 and 1952 models came with two different cab trim options. In Canada, the Five Star and Five Star Extra terms were not used to describe them. In my '52 Mercury Truck Handbook they are referred to as "Standard Cab" or "Custom Cab".
Stu, No problem. My '51 Ford of Canada sales brochure lists the cab options as "Standard" and "Deluxe". Both packages contain the same equipment as the U.S. Cab packages, just different nominclature. Tien.
Yours is the only Canadian Truck Handbook I recall anybody having. The US versions are rare, yours rarer yet. Does your book contain any mention, or more detail, regarding the F/M-3 dual rear wheel option discussed in this old thread? Stu
