Wheels and Tire choices for '91 f250 4x4
I am looking to replace the stock 16 inch- 8lug wheels on my truck. What are my options? Truck is stock with no lift. Can 15inch rims be
used or will they be too small to clear the rotors and drums? What are you guys running with my type of setup?
Thanks for all your input.

I have a 89 F-250 4x4 and went with 16x8 chrome modular wheels and 265/75/16 Goodyear Workhorse tires. Really like them. The pickup is real heavy,(diesel,110 gal. fuel tank, aircompressor, and about a 1000lbs of tools) so I had to watch the load ratings to make sure the tires would hold up.

I run American Racing Outlaw II's, 16x8 with 285/75 R16 BFG AT's, you must use 16's or better your F calipers and rear drums will not clear 15's. 16's or 16.5's will give you the largest tire variety, do you want width, height or both, with a stock 16x7" rim 255/85 R16's will give you even wear and good height, 33" high and about 10.5 width, to go any wider and avoid uneven wear you will need a 16x8 or better rim then you could fit 285/75 R16 or 295/75 R16 roughly your truck can fit a 33-34" high tire without any problems and about 12" wide. So a 33x12.50 16.5 will fit, until you lift or anything else i would avoid any larger diameter you will risk fender rubbing, there are some tricks to fitting a 35x12.50 16.5 under your truck using a narrower rim than called for, i have seen it done but it ussually results in the uneven wear down the center of the rubber. Good Luck
