Coyote Swap

Has anyone swapped in a coyote in place of the 390...Whats all needed minus the engine, transmission, harness....can you keep the I beams and front cross member.
Kicking around the idea of jerking out my 428CJ in my 69 and putting in coyote...I have DJM drop I-Beams and don't really want to do the crown vic front clip.
Any and all ideas
Scott

Coyote

The Coyote package comes without the left manifold, you will need one from a 2011 Mustang. If you have power steering you will need an adapter kit that mounts the steering pump depending on which kit you use may require machine work on the timing cover. An external fuel pump and regulator will be needed.
I am currently doing the installation with the C V set up. Figure on a new driveshaft. If you are using a manual transmission you will not need a flywheel. I estimate that by the time I am rolling I will have knocked the hell out of 10k.

Just for my own curiosity, which part number Coyote package are you using Kenny? There are like 3 different part numbers of 5.0L Coyotes in my 2014 FRPP parts catalog.
*
2011 Mustang 5.0L left side exhaust manifold is part number BR3Z9431A. Replaced by BR3Z9431C.

If you're gonna do a Coyote you might as well go crown vic front end. If not, I'd stick with the FE power! My .02

Coyote #

When I was ordering, the dealer (Lamarque Ford) parts manager said that the 2016 model was the only #. This is the basic 420 hp model. Of course there are a couple of high $ models available. The control kit is the same as 2014.
M-6007-M50A. Engine $7,026.50
M-6017-M504V.Control $1,554.85
Power by the hour alternator swap kit $749.99 The cheapest one I could find.
BR3Z-10346 B Alternator $350.87. The only alternator that can be used.
BR3Z-9448-A Manifold $170.00
Driveshaft $350.00
I still have to get the transmission rebuilt and need a stand alone control kit.

I agree, those twin I beams aren't high horsepower friendly...or maybe it's just the weight of my 460. Either way you will want some better handling if you add a bunch of horsepower.

BR3Z9448A? You meant the exhaust manifold/header gaskets? I thought you meant the left side manifold/header. Lets see if this will works. Hard to figure out a way to copy and paste a pic out of my Ford computer.

Gaskets

The gasket was still on the left head . These manifolds are easy to work with, every mounting nut can be reached with a straight socket and extension.

Well for that cost, at least they made it easy to get to the nuts/bolts.

Sounds like a great fun project brother Kenny!

A Man with a dream will some day make it to the mountain top, than one day will look down from where he started. With a sigh of relief an a grin thinking to oneself.
Yes, I did it and now done.
