50 F1 belly pan

Putting the belly pan back on last night and noticed the center front crossmember bolt hole is stripped. Was thinking of laying a few tack welds in the threads of the crossmember, and retap. Thoughts on that? Theoretically I don't even need a bolt in it but hate a known stripped bolt hole and 5 is better than 4.

Can you tack a nut on the backside? Kinda like a captured nut sorta thing. Might be a bit easier, dunno.

5/16-18. I tacked it in 4 spots, cleaned it up with a drill bit, retapped it. Held fine.
