Ford still makes a T-stat for the 335 Series the RT 1167 the original application for this stat is the SOHC 4.0L but is listed for the 335 Series also. So any 4.0L SOHC t stat will work in the 335 Series.

Btw if you want a NOS there are a few on eBay at the moment..

OEM-D9AZ-8575-A WRONG!

D9OZ-8575-A Replaced // D9OE-8575-AA-197-deg Not a part number.
D9AZ-8575-A = 302/351W = 1979/82 LTD, 1979/85 Grand Marquis, 1980/85 Town Car, 1983/85 Crown Victoria.

D9OZ-8575-A was replaced by D0AZ-8575-A // D9OE-8575-AA is the ID engineering number for D9OZ-8575-A

Most ebay sellers haven't a single clue what parts fit, even if they're brand new w/a part number marked on the package.

The only people dumber than ebay sellers are those that buy parts from them before verifying what the hell they fit!

I apologize. I just did quick search for NOS T-Stats on eBay. I didn't research the listings.
I shouldn't have copied them here.

Anyway, The Track Boss from TMeyer works great. Solved my issue.

Post #24 was quoted by you from my post #8 where I listed the 351C/351M/400 t/stat part numbers and their applications.

There's no D9AZ-8575-A listed because it's wrong and I noted that D0AZ-8575-A replaced D9OZ-8575-A

Numbers Dummy,
I was just trying to confirm all of those parts listed in 8 are interchangeable for ALL 351M/400's which you just did or you could buy the Track Boss. Thank you!

Tim Meyer offers multiple temperatures, depending on what you're looking for. The 195 is the stock thermostat temp IIRC, 180 is also offered by Tmeyer.

There is no need to try to source oddball and hard to find T Stats for the 335 Series engines the 4.0L SOHC used the Ranger etc uses a 335 Series compatible stat. These are the modern replacements that supercede the old style 335 stats.

It appears that Orielly Auto parts still can source the RT-139. I'm not sure if it is the same as the original, but I ordered one and will post pics in a day or so when it comes in. Hopefully it is the correct one as my 400 will need a new one after sleeping for 12 years.
