Plans for my f250 4x4, opinions/advice

It's kinda on the back burning, probably until spring but I need to decide what direction to go with my 59 F250 4x4. I got it up and running and have done quite a bit to getting everything working ect. First drive, no high range, clutch is weak and no doubt the engine too. It sounds good but smokes and cranks over like it has no compression. I can get a free 205 T-case, that's no problem. Rebuilding the engine and new clutch aren't in my budget, still need tires and brakes. I can get a 90s 460 with a ZF and T-case. It would probably need switched to carb as most of the computer and wiring were stripped from the donor. Carb means different heads if you want carb heat, a must IMO. Front driveline angle is a concern.
Has anyone done this swap, or even a married T-case in one of these old trucks? Thoughts?
