Iv got bad leaky wheel cylinders and wanted to know if theres a rear axle brake conversion or where can i find where and what axle to swap on to this truck to have better brakes
I have lucus gerling brake system
mabe someone know a junk yard or someone that has made a brake kit
? will rear disk brakes stop a heavy load or does rear brakes have to be drum

thanks for any help as I'm slowly learnine on bigger trucks

 

Parts are available for Lucas Girling brakes. IMO, just get the brakes fixed correctly.

An axle swap, along with a brake system swap, will be more complicated and less reliable than fixing the existing system.

JMO....

 

Just fix what you got. Nothing wrong with Lucas brakes if they are working properly. Second only to air brakes in stopping power in my book. Also, Truck Pro will be your friend on these brakes. I had to replace the manifold that bolts on the master cylinder in my F-800. $950 from ford, $168 from truck pro.
