Potential new purchase-2016 F-350 Diesel

Looking for your guys advice on my potential new purchase.

2016 F-350 Diesel Lariat
MSRP-65170

options:
Diesel
3.55 electronic locking
Chrome package
navigation system
camper package
snow plow package
universal garage door opener
Lariat interior package
Heated rear seats

Nada puts the invoice price with options at 61,341
Truecar puts the invoice price with options at 62,471

Currently 4,000 in incentives.

Was able to get them down to 57,278 + fees = 57,767.
This counts the 4,000 in incentives. So without the incentives it would be 61,767. Basically invoice price. I always thought getting a little below invoice was the goal.

They would not even consider any other offers they said. I saw through Ford Finance that I could get another 1250 off if I finance through them(I am pretty sure I can get that additional off)

Do you think this is a fair deal or what is your opinion. Also I am planning on this being my final truck purchase for atleast 20 years. Do you think this truck is missing anything and I should instead keep looking?

This would be my first 1 ton pickup. Time to upgrade from my little 150.

Thanks.

Of course it can depend on where in the country you are, but this looks good to me. We (the company I work for)!just picked up a '16 F350 6.7L lariat crew cab that was pretty much spot on option wise and it had a sticker price of $67,500, which ended up dropping to around $62,500. Seems right about on point with your deal. Truck is a dream. Buy it, buy the extended warranty, and drive it without a care in the world!

Sounds good to me also. Now days the dealers don't have haggle like yesterday. If you won't deal there is another guy coming thru the door that will buy it. The one thing you might check is on the financing my credit company beat ford credit on percentage rate hands down. Even with the ford credit rebate.

keep in min, too, that even if you do take the ford financing, there's nothing stopping you from transferring the loan to another institution in the first 30 or 60 days..get the additional 1250 off & then go whre the credit is cheaper

Anyone else, have any objections?

Or should I pull the trigger?

Color choices, Magnetic or the dark blue color(forget the name)

Hi JLaneAK
Have you considered the 6.2 gas engine? Are you towing heavy alot.? Also if you are I would go all out and buy a dually.

It seems like a fair deal. You're not getting a steal. Definitely take the Ford financing for the rebate and refinance later.

Is the AK in your name for Kalashnikov or Alaska? If it's Alaska, you probably should make sure it has the supplemental cab heater. That would be a deal breaker for me as they basically cannot be added later.

I would object. You're buying the last model year of a 17-year run before a complete redesign. Nothing wrong with the old design, but you're getting a lot less for your money than an equivalent '17 model. It would take a lot better deal to get me buying the outgoing design before such a comprehensive redesign.

They're great trucks, and I'm sure you'll love it. I would suggest test driving and pricing a new '17 and comparing the deal from that perspective.

That is a good deal. Take the additional rebate for financing and then pay it off in 30 days. That is what I did on my 2016.
The previous design is proven and solid. Nothing wrong at all going that direction. I opted for the 6.2 gas with 4.30 rear end as I don't tow heavy all the time.
You might look at the equivalent 2017 and if the difference in price does not make you go that direction, buy the 2016 and don't look back.

Regardless of price, this is only a good deal if the truck is right for your needs. If you tow heavy, or in hilly areas regularly, a diesel may be the right choice. If you tow light or rarely, a 6.2 would make more sense, with a lot less long term maintenance concerns, and easier on the pocketbook.

I do tow a pretty heavy boat regularly(12000 lbs). Also somewhat hilly in Alaska here. The idea of a dually just doesn't seem to appeal to me. Plus the wife. Would hate the driving it if I let her 😀

Not sure if I should get this lariat or hunt down a platinum.

You will be very happy with the Lariat package. it is a great deal. I have a 15 and love it. Sure the 17 has more H/P and torque but you wont need it. If you go with the 17 than you can kiss the incentives good by.
You will need to add airbags for towing the 5th wheel. I would install them before the bottom of the truck gets to too dirty under there.
