Sun visors only rotate in one direction?
I bought sun visors for my 56 a few years back and never really used them but when I do, they only rotate in one direction. After you pull the visor down to block the sun, you can't return it to it's last position- you have to continue rotating it in the same direction 360 degrees until it returns to it's last position. If you try to reverse it back- it wants to break the visor. WTF?

If they are made like originals, the rod is sort of triangular, and so is the metal sleeve inside the visor. The metal sleeve can open up as the visor is rotated, so it is like a cam action. When the flats align, it stays in that position.
It sounds like the visor is improperly made. On stockers, you can pull the visor off the rod. If you did that, you could "soften" the edges on the triangular rod. Might ruin it pulling it out, if it's not the same construction as stock...
