No.multiple cylinders had them. It's a 200k mill. Its not gping to be perfect. I'm not worried about it. This will be infinetly better than the present mill.

Keep the good work up Thomas. I can only imagine the horrors my engine will show when I remove it from the Mule and take it apart.

water injection will definitely keep the carbon away. But you had run it a while without it though?

Sounds like you have a plan Thomas. You might want to think about a t4 mount and maybe a s366 to go with that though. I built mine for towing my 5th wheel, and am very happy with it..

Thanks guys for all the kind words. I am curious what kind of shape whites mill is in. Its amazing how much it's deteriorated in the last 30k miles. But I'm 99 percent sure it was on past borrowed time before my posession.

Nothing is in stone. I really would like a 369 just because not many others have one. But I have 0 fabrication skills and trying to do it over a distance isn't fiesable. I was thinking 38r just for ease of install. But like I said nothing is for sure.

NO, bought it at 178K and retired it account to hot to handle at 201K. Just after I bought the Mare I took it to John Woods for a trans. He asked if I wanted the towmaster on a stock motor. I said its not going to be stock long! I then put it in my nephew's garage right away right next to the Mule and started switching parts. I put the studs, valve springs and push rods in also. Water injection went on right away. I might have pushed the EGT's a little cresting hills but I never over rev it. This really makes me curious?!?!

I chatted with our good friend from southern Indiana about it, and he told me he had seen this kind of thing before. He said the tolerances are tight on these motors and how I understood it was sometimes things got a little close. Like I said I'm not sweating it, and just found it to be an interesting observation.

I'm not saying to sweat it but I'm curious because I've been driving the OX the same way. I'm aware the tolerances and really tight. I had experience on the TDI's, put the wrong head gasket on and it wouldn't turn over. Yes, I agree, very interesting observation!

Just for chits and giggles I think I'd measure the piston deck height...

Yeah, may not be a bad idea. I've never done it before, any special tools needed to do it?

Nothing too special I dont think. A straight edge that can span the bore and a snap gauge or measuring devise of your choice. Obviously gotta make sure the block is clean and you have the ability to note where in degrees of rotation your crank is (not totally nessessary), something I'd do but I'm ****... You'll need to figure out the reference pint that the MFG uses on the crown of the piston too (again not totally nessessary) but....

Just reciently I've been looking on Craigslist for "powerstroke" stuff. Today a motor and trans showed up with 125k on them for 800 obo and the other day one for $350 w/out the turbo...

I'm going to say the circles are from when you did the springs and let them sitt on the pistons and movin them made the circles
