NEED HELP! Missing sealer/gasket for thermocouple
My installation kit for my pyrometer is missing (or at least I think it should have one) the sealer/gasket that goes between the thermocouple and the exhaust pipe. I thought about using some sort of Mr. Gasket type stuff but not sure if that would hold up under the high temps and would be messy if I ever had to change the thermocouple. Any ideas what I could use as a suitable high temp substitute?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the gasket you are referring too is actaully a heat resistant washer that is needed for the clamp style pyro installations.
If you have tapped into the downpipe and installed the correct pipe fitting to thread your pyro sensor, the washer is not needed.

NEED HELP! Missing sealer/gasket for thermocouple
My kit came with a ceramic washer that broke when slipping it over the probe. (clamp-on type) Tried to find a replacement locally (Auto Zone, Home Depot, etc.) was impossible.
Decided to make one up out of exhaust manifold gasket material rather than wait for them to ship a new one...no leaks or problems and not nearly as fragile.
