Survived
Honestly cant answer as I too have always been covered. Ridiculous prices these days. Actually just opted out of wifes plan at work (Cigna) and re-joined Kaiser at 450 a month. Always had Kaiser and love them. Watch this,,a simple blood test bill (Cigna) came in at 1450, with my share 430.00.
Hope Trump wipes that obummer care crap soon

they did without and hoped they did not get really sick.
i lost insurance when the old job closed in 09, and went 5 years without. the doctors worked with me when i went to them, same with the lab for blood work.
i do not have insurance again, because i can not afford it. in 08 i was paying a little over $200 a month. in 14 when i got the new job it was $498 a month.
2015 it went to $812 a month. for 2016 the price went up to $2124 a month.
my boss is going without also. his went up to $10,470 a month for him, his wife, and 3 children. it is cheaper for him to pay out of pocket direct to doctors when any of us goes to see the doctor.

My BIL's late brother never carried health insurance...even though his employer had a great plan that was reasonably priced. He used the local ER as his families PCP and worked out payment arrangements with them. It's a public hospital and can't refuse treatment despite ability or willingness to pay.

Geez guys, that's just crazy!! Luckily, very lucky that is, part of my retirement package was health care. I hate to even mention my monthly cost, after what you guys said.
I'm pretty ignorant as to why costs have soared like that, I have my own thoughts, but they're very negative. I'm sure greed plays in there as well, and also possibly the cost of malpractice insurance.

John, the main reason health insurance is through the roof is because of obumpercare.
obumpercare states that everyone MUST and if you are on welfare the people that work for a living will pay for it.
and seeing as there are more people on welfare than are working these days, the workers have to pay more to cover for the non workers.

support what ken, the who pays, or the amount on welfare?
i said the amount sorta as a joke, i don't think it is actually there YET.
probably closer to 70% paying for 30% moochers.
depending on where you look, you can pull numbers from 35% welfare in 2012 up to 60%, but the 60% number is misleading because it also counts the working poor that receive government help of some sort.
and i don't trust sites that like to mislead people

The more collecting rather than working. My research supports your last post as opposed to your other post.
The 35.4 Percent: 109,631,000 on Welfare
